Habitat For Humanity of Waukesha County will shortly introduce an exciting new Habitat for Humanity program called “A Brush With Kindness”, to help low-income and at-risk homeowners restore their homes so they can continue to live in the safe comfort of their homes and neighborhood, in a decent and affordable way, while protecting the value of their hard earned property.
At Habitat For Humanity of Waukesha County, we offer this neighborhood outreach program with volunteer help from our local community for painting; home repair services (exterior and interior) and some landscaping for low-income and needy homeowners. When mere basic living expenses exceed household income, month after month and year after year, home maintenance is often put off or neglected, leading to violations of city code, cancellation of homeowner insurance policy, and sometimes even losing a home.
Here in Waukesha County, we plan to fund this program through grants from local banks and businesses, faith based organizations, fund raising events, and regular donations from the public that believe and support our cause. This will augment our home builds and provide additional support for those families in need.
